Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

SCOTLAND – Due to current guidelines, we are unable to deliver ASIST in Scotland. We recommend contacting Public Health Scotland if you are interested in booking this specific course.

What are 'suicide intervention skills'?

Globally, one person dies from suicide every 40 seconds – more than all the yearly victims of wars and natural disaster and twice as many deaths as from homicides

Combatting this starts with recognising signs of suicide but, more crucially, knowing how and when to act. ASIST teaches participants to recognise when someone may have thoughts of suicide and successfully work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

Course information

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. Several studies demonstrate ASIST’s effectiveness.

Since 2013, ASIST 11 is the most recent version of the course. No prior experience is necessary. For those trained in ASIST 10 or earlier, signing up for ASIST 11 is recommended.

Due to the nature of the course, it is only possible to complete the training in person. This can be done at our public training location in Brighton, or at national venues with your organisation.

Our skilled trainers will be available to offer support and create a learning atmosphere where participants can encourage and support each other.
